Ismael Ortega of Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction and Angela Jackson of Metropolitan State University of Denver attended the SPJ Region 9 conference courtesy of $400 stipends each from the Colorado Pro Chapter. Not pictured: Erin Douglas of Colorado State University in Fort Collins. The SPJ Colorado Pro board allocated the stipends to encourage the students to pursue journalism careers. The three students were selected by their respective campus chapters to receive the stipends.
