‘Disinformation Emergency’ Training to Be Offered in Denver

From FIRST DRAFT via SPJ NATIONAL

Local and regional newsroom leaders have been invited to “frontlines” training by First Draft, a non-profit promoting journalism values, in Denver on Nov. 17 and 18.

The event is free, but an RSVP is requested. It will be at the Denver Distillery, 244 S. Broadway, Denver.

Participants will work on “disinformation emergency” training designed to help organizations mitigate the threat disinformation poses, First Draft says in its announcement.  The session will include classes on identifying, verifying and responsibly reporting on disinformation.

The training begins on Nov. 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. for a disinformation landscape overview with Rachael Wilson from Securing Democracy and Claire Wardle from First Draft, at the Denver Distillery. The simulation and classes take place on Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about this event click here.
