Denver Press Club honors 5 Colorado media legends at Hall of Fame events

SPJ Colorado Pro’s friends at the Denver Press Club are honoring five media legends with induction into its Hall of Fame. Tickets are available for two extraordinary evenings this week recognizing five luminaries who have shaped Colorado’s stories.

The Denver Press Club Hall of Fame is one of Colorado journalism’s most celebrated traditions and is the club’s primary fundraiser. Every ticket sold supports its mission and its historic building.

This year, the club is celebrating the work of Denver Post Editor Lee Ann Colacioppo, DPC historian and author Alan Kania, Linhart Public Relations founder Sharon Linhart, longtime Colorado news leader Linda Carpio Shapley (who in April was presented with SPJ Colorado Pro’s Keeper of the Flame career achievement award) and Colorado Springs Gazette Associate Editor Jim Trotter.

On Thursday, May 14, the DPC will host an intimate gathering celebrating this year’s inductees with members, colleagues and the public.

The formal induction program is Saturday, May 16. There are still tickets available for the downstairs event with a live simulcast.

The Denver Press Club is a longtime partner of the Society of Professional Journalists Colorado Professional Chapter and frequently hosts our programs. We urge all our members and friends to support the club.
