About Colorado SPJ Pro

The mission of the Colorado Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is to promote the association of journalists in Colorado; to further the ethics and ideals of the profession; to advance, develop and formally recognize higher standards of journalism; to stimulate social and intellectual exchange between members of the press; to raise public awareness of the profession; to promote the development of future journalists from the ranks of high school and college students; and to promote the spirit of fellowship among journalists and civic responsibility to the community.

The Colorado chapter achieves these goals by organizing periodic events on topics of interest, awarding scholarships to the journalists of tomorrow, presenting annual individual awards to Colorado’s finest journalists and allies, and coordinating the annual four-state Top of the Rockies contest recognizing journalism excellence in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.

  1. Please share with colleagues in SPJ that public radio station KUNC is searching for a visionary individual to lead our growing newsroom, focused on broadcast and digital coverage of Colorado issues, collaborative coverage of issues with numerous public radio stations across the region and nationally, and in partnership with National Public Radio. Details available at https://www.kunc.org/employment-internships.

  2. Hello!
My name is Bri Weigel, and I am the membership chair for Wyoming’s SPJ chapter. We are focused on growing our membership, and I’m hoping to connect with the Colorado chapter to follow your lead and brainstorm. Based on your about section, it seems speaking with Kristina Pritchett might be best? How might I reach her? Thank you for your help!
