Join SPJ Colorado Pro and veteran Colorado journalist Steve Knopper for “No Newsroom Required: The Ins and Outs of Freelance Journalism,” a conversation about the ins and outs of freelance journalism and creating a sustainable career outside a traditional newsroom.

Knopper has spent 30 years freelancing, with work appearing in Rolling Stone, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, GQ, Wired and more. He is also the author of the books MJ: The Genius of Michael Jackson and Appetite for Self-Destruction: The Spectacular Crash of the Record Industry in the Digital Age.

The moderator is SPJ Colorado Pro president-elect Marco Cummings, digital strategist at The Denver Post and a longtime freelance writer.

Bring your questions and learn freelancing from an industry veteran. Details:

Where: The Denver Press Club, 1330 Glenarm Place. Metered parking is on the street, a pay lot is next door, and the free RTD 16th Street shuttle is two blocks away.
