Are you a Colorado journalism student who wants to attend Local News Solutions 2026, the Colorado Press Association‘s three-day annual statewide conference?
The Colorado Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is sponsoring full conference passes for five interested students. Those five students will also receive free membership in SPJ and the Colorado Pro Chapter.

To be considered for a pass, send 100 words about why this opportunity would be meaningful for you in an email to chapter President and Education Committee Chair Doug Bell at dgoal@aol.com.
Act soon! Send your 100 words by end of day Wednesday, Aug. 19. We will let you know by Thursday, August 20, if you’ve been selected for a sponsorship and free SPJ membership.
If you’re a journalism professor in Colorado, please pass this opportunity along to your students.
CPA’s Local News Solutions conference will be held Aug. 27-29 at Delta Hotels Denver Thornton. Hundreds of Colorado journalists, students and funders will gather for networking, panels, education and inspiration. Scheduled speakers and panel participants include SPJ Colorado Pro board member Corey Hutchins.
The event is co-sponsored by Colorado Media Project and the Colorado News Collaborative.
(Note that you’ll need to register separately for conference meals and the awards dinner on the final night.)
